In general, try to buy what you can here - locally - in Venezuela, rather than importing from abroad. Caracas is a large and cosmopolitan city and you can probably find 99% of what you need if you start looking and asking around.

There is a level of bureaucracy involved with getting a mortgage in Venezuela, for locals and foreigners alike, but it is do-able.

If you do not want to rent a car and drive to Isla de Oro yourself, then there are basically two ways to get to Isla de Oro: with a taxi or a with private driver.

If you arrive in Venezuela late - at one of the 10 pm flights - you may want to consider staying overnight before heading out to Isla de Oro the next day.
