The facade paint and new stucco isadvancing more, with the towers are looking better and better. We still have no firm date for completion of the upgrade but it is moving forward according to schedule and there have been no major stumbling blocks or unexpected surprises so far.

Condo hotel

One of the goals which we are working towards is the re-opening of Isla de Oro as a condo hotel. The idea is not new: In the past, Isla de Oro was already a condo hotel. Now, the condo board and a group of owners - at the initial urging of the owner of unit #813 - are working at making this a reality again.

Refurbishment and infrastructure maintenance

Since 2001-2002, Isla de Oro has been undergoing a large refurbishment program. The first part, in 2001, was an upgrade of the tennis courts. Most of the rest of the work has now been done, including a restoration of the grounds (in 2003) and a complete upgrade of the electrical system which took place in 2004. Many parts of the club have also already been renovated, for instance the first aid station, parts of the bathrooms and changing rooms in the gym, and the storage area for our beach canopies, among other places.

Improved finances

For the past four or five years, successive administrations have been working towards improving the financial situation of Isla de Oro. The efforts have been successful but there is still work to do before we are where we want to be.
