1980 map of the resort
This map from 1980 shows the plan that builder and architect Jack Dornbusch had for Isla de Oro. Most of what he envisioned was constructed.
The major differences from what he wanted to build and what we now have today are:
- Towers 4 and 5 were never built,
- The peninsula (at the bottom of the map, with amphitheater) is still mostly undeveloped land;
- The marina looks different, although in roughly the same location.
