Completed new freeway to the beach

The new freeway to the beach was inaugurated on 24 November 2007. With the latest stretch now opened, it is today possible to drive from all the way from Caracas to the Barlovento coast on "autopista."

Venezuela changes its currency to Bolivar Fuerte on 1 January 2008

On January 1, 2008 the national money, the Venezuelan Bolivar, will go through a currency change to the new Bolivar Fuerte which will take three zeros from it's current value.

The main effect of this process will be to eliminate three zeroes, 000, from all current coins and bills. As an example a Bs.50,000 bill will now be Bs.F.50.

General Assembly 2007: Board of Directors re-elected with 82.4%

Isla de Oro's General Assembly held on 5 December 2007 re-elected the existing Board of Directors for a second two-year term.

A total of 54 percent of Isla de Oro's statutory condominium ownership was represented at the Assembly either directly in person or by voting proxies. 82.4 percent of Isla de Oro's voting ownership voted in favor of the existing Board of Directors continuing unchanged for the period 2008-2009.

Isla de Oro's Halloween '07

Isla de Oro's annual Halloween Event took place on Saturday, 3 November 2007. The owners' children went trick or treat, door to door at the resort. Following that, everyone met at the Clubhouse for a Halloween Costume Party with music and dancing, and a musical performance by a Chayanne impersonator

Copa America 2007 at Isla de Oro

Venezuela's recent Copa America ("America's Cup") of soccer/football was shown on TV's at Isla de Oro and celebrated by fans.
